At Springer we talk a lot about dyslexia--and for good reason. It's one of the most prevalent and impactful learning challenges for students. But we also know that many students struggle with more than just reading.
In fact, Understood.org asserts that as many as 2 out of 3 kids are impacted by learning issues in both math AND reading.
Unfortunately, when children don’t form an understanding math (which is frequently the case for those with dyscalculia) the negative impact begins in childhood and persists, affecting life in many ways. And, as happens too often, when learning disabilities go undiagnosed self-esteem erodes and feelings of shame grow.
