New High School and Rebrand for Springer School and Center

The announcement comes at the conclusion of a successful two-year high school exploration study. The full study included town hall-style meetings, parent and community feedback, and a study of seventeen independent schools with similar missions. Springer’s board of trustees, headed by president and alumnus Mike Wright, unanimously approved the high school earlier this month.

As the final phase of the high school exploration study, Springer enrolled fourteen ninth-grade students leading up to the 2023-2024 school year. Students started classes in August and in that time parent response has been overwhelmingly positive. In a letter shared with faculty, a parent shares how the program is already making a difference for her enrolled student. “We know they feel welcome, accepted and understood because of all of you! The difference you are making is life changing!”

Small class sizes, specially trained faculty and custom program design are some of the ways Springer’s program stands apart. For example, students in participate three unique courses designed for students who struggle in traditional classrooms due to diagnoses like dyslexia, ADHD and executive functioning challenges. Learning Lab targets specific areas of need with interventions like fluency, comprehension and written expression. Quest, a class designed to increase self-knowledge, introduces technology tools and facilitates college and career exploration. SOAR focuses on executive function skills by teaching strategies to enhance accountability, time management and prioritization.

The four-year high school will unfold year by year with ninth and tenth grade students admitted for the 2024-2025 school year. Enrollment for rising ninth and tenth grade students is open now. An additional grade will be added each year until 2027, when Springer High School will commence its first class.

The announcement of Springer High School correlates with an organizational rebranding also being publicly unveiled.

Sarah Gebhart Design and Mike Taylor Consulting are responsible for the new look, which will unroll throughout the remainder of the fiscal year. Springer’s rebrand includes new logos for the four pillars of the organization: the lower school and middle school upon which Springer has built its reputation, the newly announced high school, the Springer Diagnostic Center and the Springer Learning Center, together previously known as the Center.

Springer’s rebrand emphasizes each of the four pillars by giving each its own logo color which remains consistent with the organization’s new overall logo. Each pillar represents a different path to fulfill the overall mission, which remains to empower students with learning disabilities to lead successful lives. Springer hopes the rebrand will help clarify and increase awareness for the expanded services offered to the community.

The prompt success of the diagnostic center and the high school illustrate the need for these services in the region and underscore the value that Springer’s offerings have in the community. Springer is thrilled to empower more children to reach their potential.
