Thank you for building a stronger future for struggling students!
November 14, 2023The decision to move your child from his current school has far-reaching implications, and there are many issues to consider – academic and social, and of course, financial. Here are a few thoughts and questions parents have, when considering this important decision.
Springer is too expensive.
There are a couple of items to consider before coming to this conclusion. First of all, there is a non-needs based scholarship available to Ohio residents. The amount provided by the state helps to offset the cost of tuition. In addition, Springer strives to provide financial assistance to qualified families. And if you are currently paying for the services of a motor, speech and language, and/or psychotherapist, you may be able to save those dollars, as the services of these professionals are included in tuition at Springer. We encourage you to consider all possible resources before counting out the possibility of your child attending Springer. It truly is an investment that could change your and your child’s lives.
Will my child be prepared for the “real world” when she leaves Springer?

I think I should wait and see how it goes; she is so young.
Recent research has shown that early intervention has tremendous impact on later success for a student who is struggling to learn. Students who are not reading proficiently by third grade are four times more likely than proficient readers to leave high school before graduating. Several studies have found that reading level in first grade is an excellent indicator of reading achievement in high school.
“The only wish I have is that we had made the switch sooner!” reflected a current Springer parent. She went on to say, “Springer is the best thing we have ever done for our daughter. She was managing okay at her previous school, but things were being missed and she was not learning as much as she could have.
"Springer has given her opportunities that we would have never imagined. She is working more independently, enjoying school more and learning to take responsibility for learning through strategies and different approaches to education! She was welcomed with open arms and was encouraged to get involved. She has a wide variety of friends and the teachers and staff are beyond fantastic!”
At Springer, we can’t turn back time, but if you notice that help is needed, we encourage you to act so you aren’t saying, “The only wish I have is….”
