While Springer is literally being built up by Huesman Group Construction (HGC) carrying out the largest addition in campus history, Springer students are applying the theme in other ways, too.
Last week, grades 1-8 spent time brainstorming ways to encourage each other with words and actions and built mini towers to demonstrate their ideas.
In PE many students took a turn climbing the rock wall, each signing their name when they reach their personal max height. (Everyone gets another chance in the spring to try to beat their fall height.)
Ninth graders built each other up to even greater heights at YMCA Camp Campbell Gard this week on the rope course. Their beginning-of-year team building experience has helped students get to know each other, creating a strong foundation for the year ahead.
Supporting children with LD across the region is another important piece of our mission. Here's just a glimpse of the work going on right now:
Springer Diagnostics are working with families to evaluate and diagnose their child's learning struggles. Springer tutors are working with children from schools across the region to support growth in their academics. Springer's Learning Center is in the process of scheduling more Wilson Reading System® courses so teachers in schools in the tri-state and beyond can use the science of reading to increase literacy in their own schools.
All of this builds up children to become confident individuals able to achieve their life goals!
A big thank you to the teachers and staff everywhere who build up the community and create the architecture for growth! Construction hats off to the parents, educators and schools contracting with the crew at Springer. We're proud to be in your blueprints for success this year.
