Springer School and Center is proud to announce that fifth-grader and Hyde Park resident Mick Davin and eighth-grader Malakai Graham of Mariemont have had artwork accepted in Ohio Art Education Association exhibitions for student art.
Davin’s work in mixed media was chosen for the 2013 Youth Art Month Exhibition, and Greenberg’s mixed media piece will be exhibited in the OAEA’s Young People’s Art Exhibition. Both works will be on display at the State Teacher’s Retirement Systems (STRS) building in Columbus, during the month of March.
The students’ work was submitted to OAEA by Springer art teacher Corrinne Thaler. “I am very proud of the strong work ethic as well as the creativity exhibited by both students,” said Thaler. “Their desire to express themselves as they explored the use of different media is being celebrated and recognized. I am thrilled to have both students represent Springer School.”
Selected for this juried show were 124 pieces of art from the nine OAEA regions in the state of Ohio. OAEA is the professional organization for art teachers in Ohio. A reception and awards ceremony will be held March 16, 2013, for the young artists and their parents, teachers and guests.
